Our Place Nursery

CARING FOR FAMILIES

Welcome to Our Place Nursery

We are based across two sites and look after children aged 0-5 years. At Our Place Nursery, we offer high quality childcare, following current legislation.

We are part of the Sure Start Children's Centre which provides services to the local community such as Early Years, Health, Family Support and Training.

The Nursery Team

Within the nursery, the learning and development of children is at the centre of our ethos. We work with the Early Years foundation Stage framework to support the children's holistic development.

Each child has a key worker who responds to their invididual needs. this includes doing regular observations so that learning can be supported and extended with inspiration and challenges. The key worker is responsible for communicating with families to maximise

childrens learning.

Staff have a positive outlook to their work with the children and offer praise and encouragement throughout the day to build their confidence.

Safety and Security

We have a safe and secure environment for children, staff and families. All Our Place Nursery entrances have security coded doors and locks, visitors have to sign in and out of the building and only named carers/guardians will be allowed to collect children.

Environment

The Nursery offers a relaxed and stimulating learning environment to meet the needs of the children and encourage independence. We have a baby room for children aged 0-2 years which is sectioned into two areas to cater for mobile and non-mobile children. The 2-5 year room is a fun and happy place for children to become independent learners.

Outdoor Play

The ethos behind the outdoor space is to stretch the children's imaginations and give them new challenges through the use of natural equipment.

Partnership with Parents

We feel strongly about involving parents and carers in the children's learning and development. we will include them in the children's day and keep them informed of what they have been doing with:

Daily report sheets
Meetings with staff and key workers
Parent and carers notice board
Newsletters

Helping Children be Healthy

The food we provide at nursery is healthy, nutritrious and freshly prepared. To encourage independence, food is served, and children can choose their own meals. Menus are displayed daily and the children take part in healthy fun with food sessions.

The nursery is open all year round and offers the following sessions:

7.30AM - 6.00OM

MORNING

7.30AM - 1.00PM

AFTERNOON

1.00PM - 6.00PM

We also offer Government funded places for 3-4 year olds
