On Thursday 5th December 2002 Sure Start took 26 children aged between 7 months & 3 years old on a trip to Ash End House Farm with their parents.
The children wrapped up warm in their wellies and jumpers to feed the sheep and goats. They held a baby chick, had a pony ride and visited some reindeer. After taking part in a nativity play, the children visited Father Christmas and received a Christmas present from him.
After visiting the farm gift shop and play area, the coach headed back to Wednesbury with lots of worn out children and parents on board. Debbie Green, a parent who attended the trip with her son Keel aged 2 and daughter Kara age 1 commented: “It was a great day with lots for the children to see and do. Keel would now like a toy farm for Christmas”.
