Growing Together!

Many parents have attended our previous sessions named Coping With Kids, which looked at how to cope with children's behaviour.

GROWING TOGETHER - Parenting Group Supporting relationships within families

• Would you like to know more about your child's development and why they behave the way they do?
• Would you like the chance to think more about what being a parent means for you?
• Would you like the chance to meet with other parents with children of a similar age?

We are now running a new group for parents and carers with children under 5 years at Sure Start. It is aimed at parents and carers with children up to the age of 5 years old.

This is a group for families who want to know more about parenting.

It is based on an approach developed in Solihull that has been found to be very helpful to families.

We will explore issues such as:

• Temper Tantrums
• Sleep
• Behaviour Difficulties
• Parenting Styles
• Children's Development
• Communication
• Having Fun Together

Don't worry if you do not know anyone else coming to the group as one of the facilitators will contact you before the group starts. We will tell you more about the group and ask you what you want to get out of it.

This group may not be suitable for your family if you are experiencing mental health difficulties, domestic violence or have drug or alcohol related problems, also if your child has certain special needs. You can contact your health visitor or Surestart, to discuss alternative support and services.

The course will run for 1½ hours once a week and will be held at:
The Priory Family Centre

The group will be held on Wednesdays from 9.30am - 11.00am
The groups will run each term; one in January, May & September.

We will have a creche where your children can be looked after while you attend the group. This group and everything you need will be free of charge. We may be able to provide transport - just ask!
